Helping your brain make sense of sound. From detecting the simplest sounds to performing the most complex listening activities, your brain is responsible for making sense of everything you hear.
Susan specializes in Tinnitus Management. Often referred to as “ringing in the ears,” Tinnitus is the perception of sound when no external sound is present. Some people experience roaring, hissing, whistling, chirping, clicking or other noises. Where there is currently no known medical “cure” for Tinnitus, Susan has solutions to help you with your symptoms.
After you make an investment in your hearing aids, you’ll want to keep them in good working order to make sure you’re always hearing as clearly as possible.
Like many electronic devices, hearing instruments are sensitive to moisture and their circuitry may, on occasion, be in need of a little more maintenance than a routine cleaning. If your hearing aids do need repair, we can help. We are able to perform most repairs the same day as your visit. If we do need to send your hearing aids to their manufacturer for repair, we may be able to provide you with a set on loan to help keep you connected with your friends and family until your hearing devices are expertly repaired.
Cerumen, wax, can build up in your ear canals and prevent you from hearing. Wax comes from the production of oil from glands in our skin. Since our ear is a canal or tube shape, the oil builds up and becomes trapped in the canal. Susan can remove your wax with special tools. She is called the “wax whisperer” by some patients due to her gentle and compassionate touch.
“I have a wax problem only. I come see Susan every 6 months for her to remove the wax from both of my ears. She goes slow and is very gentle. If my Doctor mentions he wants to remove the wax from my ears, I tell him “No thanks, I will have Susan remove it for me." - Margaret
If you are immobile or cannot get transportation to the office, Susan can bring her office to the comforts of your home. Hearing evaluations, wax removal, device cleaning and care, fitting of new modern hearing aids, follow up care and check-ups are available through our in-home services.
Susan sets aside one afternoon a month for this service. If you are interested in having Susan come to your home, please call 970-221-5249 to schedule your visit.
